Margherita Gabrielli (1916 – 2007) painter, philosopher, history of art teacher and, above all, artist with natural talent and deep sensitivity. She began her journey with paintings of rare beauty, to move on to the Academic studies interpreting reality in a lyrical and historical way thanks to a very personal use of color. Hence the step to the study and application of Goethe’s color theory was short and functional to her personal and human deepening of the expression, relying on an almost spasmodic search for humanity, with particular reference to women, religion and the modern myth.
Lately, she followed anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner. In this community, she played teacher and pedagogue roles. Artistically, she completed her research cycle building in her paintings combinations difficult to describe or interpret, perhaps unconscious or Platonic compensatory expression of her own personal imbalance.
In the last picture of the sequence, she seems to be looking back with maturity to the followed path.
Margherita Gabrielli’s complete anthology is on permanent display in Clauiano.
