The apartment is part of a 400-year old estate with lots of character in the middle of tranquil Clauiano. It has a huge garden with space to roam and play with the owners' bubbly dog, Giotto. Elisabetta and Giovanni were perfect, attentive, and friendly hosts. The winery offers about ten excellent varieties for very reasonable prices, all grown on their own vineyard in Clauiano; you can buy them on premise. There is a small store right across Piazza Giulia where you can buy vegetables, fruit, and cheese. The closest large supermarket is in Palmanova (6 minutes by car).The location is ideal for trips all around Friuli and the northern Adriatic: Besides Aquileia, Udine, Cividale, and the fortress city of Palmanova, Trieste and Miramare are absolutely worth a visit. Near Miramare you can book snorkeling trips to explore the seafloor. Sistiana offers a beautiful stone beach and ample opportunities for swimming. Ich und meine Familie haben eine Woche bei Elisabetta verbracht und unser Aufenthalt war im Großen und Ganzen angenehm. Elisabetta und Ihr Mann waren sehr nett und Hilfsbereit.Die Lage war ein Traum der Garten riesig und dieser durfte auch ohne Einschränkungen genutzt werden. Die Unterkunft ist sehr günstig gelegen um alles mögliche zu unternehmen (Auto wird jedoch vorausgesetzt). Es gibt leider auch Kritikpunkte welche dazu führen dass ich diese Unterkunft nicht mehr buchen würde…Der erste und größte war die Sauberkeit… Damit haben wir uns nach einiger Zeit selber putzen an Elisabetta gewandt. Sie war zwar bemüht und hat eine Reinigungskraft her bestellt jedoch kam diese leider erst am nächsten Tag. Der zweite ist die Ausstattung wie z.B. der Ofen, hier konnten nur die Gasbrenner genutzt werden, das Backrohr ist defekt oder auch der Taoster der seine besten Tage schon lange hinter sich hat…

We are a family of four who were fortunate enough to spend 11 nights at Foffani while we were visiting family in Italy. Elisabetta was a wonderful host, incredibly kind and would regularly check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Foffani has an interesting history and produces incredible wines, it was lovely to wander around the property with Giotto the dog and chat to Elisabetta and Giovani about there vineyard. Il soggiorno presso la struttura dei coniugi Foffani è stato gradevolissimo, per la struttura, i servizi, la disponibilità e la simpatia della famiglia che ci ha ospitato. La posizione della casa è ideale per muoversi nel territorio friulano. A distanza di giorni il ricordo della nostra permanenza è sempre vivo e ci auguriamo di poter nuovamente ritornare a Clauiano nella stessa dimora.

Very nice house wonderfull area great to discover the region! The wines of Foffani or super and the Sauvignon perfect for a drink in the fantastic garden. We had a very warm welcome by Elisabetta! Eine tolle Gastgeberin und eine tolle Unterkunft mit viel Geschichte.Bei Elisabetta ist jeder Gast in besten Händen. Bereits die Begrüßung ist herzlich und sie nimmt sich viel Zeit die Unterkunft zu erklären.Da wir unsere beiden Kinder dabei hatten wurden wir sogar mit Spielmöglichkeiten überrascht.Das Weingut hat eine lange Historie und diese spürt man auch überall. Wir haben es einfach geliebt.Der riesige Garten, ja fast schon Park, ist toll um auch direkt auf dem Weingut Entspannung zu finden.Die Lage ist perfekt wenn man mobil ist. Egal ob schnell ans Meer um zu baden, in die Berge zu wandern oder eine der zahlreichen historischen und kulturellen Sehenswürdigkeiten zu entdecken.Elisabetta sprudelt nur so vor Empfehlungen.Wir vermissen bereits jetzt die Zeit in Clauiano.
